My bed seem to be to small?

Today kittens are 7 weeks old and they have since a week access to the whole apartment. They are doing so good, making the litter box every time and they can jump from the bed and couch. Thou yesterday evening when I got home my bed was full of cats, so where was I supposed to sleep?

‘Yxne’

The Orchid Leucorchis albida ssp. straminea is in Swedish called Fjällvityxne (Alp White -). Yxne is a mysterious word used as name for plants, people and places, thou the meaning of the word illuminates me.

Yxne is the smallest of the boys in size, but still a strong dude. He was a huge mother’s boy up to 2 moths of age and then he switched as turning the light on, he became extremely people oriented. He comes to everyone, wants to sit in the lap and be carried around. Yxne is the most intense of the kittens, so cuddly when he is in that mode and when he is in play mode he is a machine. He eats from same bole as the others and often play nicely with his siblings, but when there is an especially interesting toy he can sometimes defend it towards his siblings and when there is candy he is a real compedetor, always in the best position to get the candy and at the same time successful in stealing candy from the other siblings.

When Yxne want to get places he doesn’t even try for him self, he just talks with an unhappy voice and looks at me. Mummy I want this but I cant do it myself, please help me, he says.

‘Skruvax’

The Orchid Spiranthes spiralis is in Swedish called Skruvax and the English name is Autumn Lady’s-tresses. Skruv is a word for twisted or screw. Ax is a word to describe a certain positioning of the flowers on the plant, it sits without a shaft directly in an line on an non branched stalk.

Skruvax is the largest and heavyset of the boys, thou he has longer legs than his siblings and finer boning than his brothers. Skruvax is very easy to handle with everything, when it comes to cutting his claws and other things kittens has to endure. He is still and sweet. He is mild in personality and very soft in approaching things, thou at the same time he is not easily scared and the vacuum cleaner he almost doesn’t notice.

When Skruvax was a small kitten he was scared to be picked up, he would cling to my hand with his little paws, even thou nothing ever happened. So we trained for 3 weeks and I was extremely gentle with him, this made it better and today we almost worked it away. He wants to come to my lap and is easy to hold, it was just the going up part he didn’t like. As growing up Skruvax was not as athletic as his sisters, but as he was growing much faster maybe he had a hard time to keep up with himself, because now he is flying when chasing the ”bird” toys. When playing with his siblings I can see that he has great social skills, like his mum. With Norna and Syssla he often gets on his back, plays on their level and lets them beat him. Thou when playing with Krut he has a challenge and they really go at it, no screams or sour faces but they give it all when wrestling to win.

‘Krut’

The Orchid Neotinea ustulata is in Swedish called krutbrännare (powder burners). English name for this orchid is Burnt orchid.

Krut is bigger than Yxne, but both are smaller than Skruvax, thou Skruvax has finer boning and both Krut and Yxne are tow stable boys. When Krut was small he was so soft in personality that I thought there might be something wrong with him. He would just sit in the box and look cute while the others would run around and when I picked him up he was all still. Thou as the first one to get litter-box trained he shut me up and at 1-2 moths of age he and Syssla already learned to not use their claws on people.

Krut is dark as sin and reminds me of my first Russian, when I saw Krut’s dad I was reminded how much I can appreciate a dark Russian Blue with great silver. Krut has a real cruel expression to his face and his coat is shaggy. He is just so cute when he looks all naughty, but just being playful and hiding or running fast. He doesn’t actually do much he’s not supposed to. When picked up he is totally relaxed and if he wants to get down he doesn’t become a snake or have a thousand legs, as kittens often do because they have a lot of speed in their legs and cat sit still for long. No, but Krut is so cute, he will wave his paw gently or look towards the floor, he truly is a gentle personality, but at the same time he jumps high for toys when playing and is around an about at times.

First 2 moths he was a mother’s boy and not so interested in me, but now during last moth he has become more people oriented. I never had a cat like him, but when I’m standing and talking sweetly to him he starts to trip on his toes, stroking his body to my legs and twirl his tail up my leg.
